About

The goal of the JustPublics@365 project is to connect academics, journalists and activists in ways that foster transformation on issues of social justice. JustPublics@365 began in January 2013 and this short video (5:00) describes some of what we’ve done in the first year:

The project also seeks to encourage the creation of new forms of knowledge using digital media that are open, and flow freely out of the university to wider publics. These new knowledge streams, created in conversation with journalists and activists, raise important questions about conventional measures of scholarly impact. An additional goal of JustPublics@365 is to generate discussion about new forms of measuring scholarly impact in ways that consider social justice.

JustPublics@365 is a partnership between the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and the Ford Foundation.
